IF YOU HAVE A BODY, YOU ARE AN ATHLETE*

IT’S IN OUR DNA

At NIKE, Inc., we are committed to fostering an inclusive culture and to breaking down barriers for all. Our mission is to bring inspiration and innovation to all athletes*. At Nike, we believe that if you have a body, you are an athlete. We strive to create a workplace without limitations and to advocate for and elevate the voice of the disability community. We fuel a community that empowers athletes with disabilities through innovative and inclusive products like FlyEase and through strong community partnerships.

Nike Game On

NIKE has launched a program that will expand and develop the talent pipeline of individuals who pursue careers in sports. GameOn is a new career pathway initiative designed to provide meaningful work experience for all athletes*, including those with disabilities. Nike, with the U.S. Olympic & Paralympic Committee’s support, will increase awareness for and underscore the importance of disability inclusion while also broadening the funnel for applicants who seek to learn, develop and experience Nike. Paralympic athletes are welcome to submit their applications for consideration to the program. The first GameOn cohort will start on February 4, 2025, and will be based at Nike’s World Headquarters in Beaverton, Oregon. For one year, program participants will engage in a range of educational and professional development activities to support their career goals. From inclusive design to global marketplace exposure, the talented individuals will have a chance to gain relevant and dynamic work experiences while being embedded at Nike’s world-renowned campus. All GameOn cohort participants will be entitled to employment benefits provided by Nike. In addition, Nike will provide relocation assistance for those in need of it. More details on the program can be found on https://jobs.nike.com/benefits. *At NIKE, Inc., “If you have a body, you are an athlete”.

NIKE DISABILITY NETWORK

A COMMUNITY THAT INSPIRES ATHLETES WITH DISABILITIES.

As one of our eight NikeUNITED Employee Networks, the Disability Network seeks to empower a culture of belonging while championing universal inclusion and accessibility for the well-being and success of all. Disability can be apparent or non-apparent, temporary, or permanent, and most importantly, everyone’s lived experience is unique. The Disability Network’s mission is to celebrate and empower the diverse experiences of our global disability community. This employee-formed and managed network provides community, information, resources, and education to all NIKE teammates through a variety of events, partnerships and outreach activities. The network also promotes opportunities for teammates to contribute as volunteers, champion NIKE’s global Diversity, Equity & Inclusion efforts, and support the development of a diverse and highly effective workforce.

EMPLOYEE SPOTLIGHTS

At Nike, we value the leadership and innovation that our employees bring to our team. The engagement of employees with disabilities drives impact and maximizes the potential of the communities where we live and work.

Nike FlyEase is changing the perception of what it means to be an athlete* with each successive design creating more sophisticated solutions that balance the rigor of FlyEase criteria and Nike's overarching performance standards.

UNIVERSAL DESIGN FLYEASE

Nike FlyEase extends Nike’s long-standing commitment to “always listen to the voice of the athlete” by formulating fresh insights from the disability community about how shoes should function - innovation stems from rethinking norms. Nike FlyEase is an example of how sustained development and research focused on accessibility can advance footwear for a wider spectrum of people. FlyEase is driven by a design ethos that champions the value of a suite of systems that work toward a common goal: making shoes easier for everyone. With innovations that make products accessible and more hands-free, FlyEase enables more people to make sport a daily habit. Since its debut, FlyEase technologies have been employed in more than 20 footwear styles across basketball, running and sportswear. Our most recent hands-free design, the Nike EasyOn features a patent-pending bi-stable hinge and midsole and is a testament to footwear innovation in service of athletes with disabilities. Sophisticated, accessible solutions, like those in Nike EasyOn, are emblematic of the “better is temporary” mentality that drives Nike FlyEase technology. The Nike EasyOn is available initially via invite for select Nike Members, with broader consumer availability planned for later this year.

Nike EasyOn

It's intuitive easy on, easy off and evidence of how design, innovation and engineering can meet to answer an ambitious North Star: the creation of a hands-free shoe.
